The Groggle Monster, or simply known as Groggle, is the secondary antagonist of the Skippy Shorts franchise. He is a green monster.
He hosts his own question / answer show Ask Groggle Monster (in which he is the main protagonist).
Description[]
Personality[]
The Groggle Monster is an angry, short-tempered, mischievous, selfish, and violent monster with no conscience or morals. He is also mean-spirited and insulting; for example, in "Human Skippy!", he told Skippy he looked like his mother as a human being and honked his nose twice, implying she has a big nose.
Groggle states in "PSA # 5 - Leprechauns!" that he hates leprechauns because they stole his Lucky Charms.
The Groggle Monster has an intense liking to his sandwich and spoon and will get incredibly upset if any one of them is stolen.
Biography[]
The Groggle Monster has called himself "Groggle the Big Stinkin' Groggle Monster" a few times.
It is unknown who his mother is, although he did mention her in the episode "Human Skippy!" when he saw Skippy as a human. Skippy is dumbfounded by this and the Groggle Monster responds by saying, "Honk honk!" while honking his nose.
As a puppet[]
The Groggle Monster is a green, scrawny monster with crazed eyes, a black hairy unibrow, a long red nose, and two white visible bottom fangs. He has a Muppet-like appearance. The puppet has arm sockets in which his performer and voice actor Greg Harrisberg can slip his hands into and make it look like Groggle's hands are moving.
Trivia[]
- In "Human Skippy!", it is revealed Groggle has a mother when he told Skippy he looked just like her as a human.
- In "Groggle Hunts For Skippy," Groggle is redesigned and his speech has downgraded to the point where he sounds like Cookie Monster. It was explained that Groggle suffered a brain injury and had to re-learn how to speak by watching Sesame Street.[1]
